Rule 146
Time scale

(1) A person who gets a new appointment in a position that is paid according to the time scale will generally: get the minimum salary written in the scale. However, if the authority makes a written request stating the reason, only in the case of persons who have demonstrated exceptional ability or ability, the government of Nepal can set their initial salary at a higher position within the time scale.
(2) A police officer promoted to a post of higher pay shall receive the starting pay of the promoted post. But if the salary he is getting at present is equal to or more than the minimum salary of the upper salary, then his salary in the upper salary will be determined as follows:-
(a) If the salary he is getting at present is only equal to the starting salary of the higher salary, by adding one salary increment of the higher post to the salary,
(b) If the salary received in the previous post is more than the starting salary of the promoted post, then while determining the salary of the higher post, by adding the salary increment until it reaches the current salary, by adding one salary increment of the higher post as well.
